Emily Bates, Ellen McManus and Sarah Popplewell.


They developed their Irish dancing, first with the Frances Cassidy School of Irish Dancing and lately with Bernadette Twomey's Scoil Rince Nua.

 
Except for Ruth, the girls are daughters of members of Sheffield City Morris Men and Irish dances have been part of that group's International repertoire since 1993, when Emily (then aged 6) and Ellen (aged 7) danced in Ecuador.

More recent International appearances were in Poland in 2002 and at the World Folkloriada in Hungary in 2004, the girls having developed their own style, costume and routines.

FESTIVAL APPEARANCES

With a new name - Sciorr - their first truly independent performance was at Holmfirth Festival in May 2003.

This was followed in September the same year by a well received appearances at Otley Folk Festival. A further appearance at Otley in 2004 included an ecstatically received spot at the Saturday night ceilidh.

In 2005 the girls appearances included Wath and Cleethorpes festivals.  2006 saw them at Cheltenham, Sidmouth and Whitby.
